Open Screening

This is an event open to all Alfred State and Alfred University students, faculty, staff, and visiting artists who are working across a range of time-based mediums. The goal is to meet other creatives in the community while sharing existing or current works in-progress.

Video playback is no greater than 1080P — please compress any video files accordingly.

How to Participate

  • Anyone may attend, with or without work.

  • If you have any audio/video files ready before the event (preferable), please submit via one of these methods:

    • drop them on this Microsoft OneDrive folder

    • host them on your preferred cloud service and email the link to Bernard: Dolecki@alfred.edu

    • stop by Bernard’s office in Harder 430 during business hours (across from the elevator)

    • or put them on a USB and leave them with the art office—I can return the drive to you at the event.

  • If you do not submit your files before the event, you may bring them on a physical drive, but please arrive early so that we can organize them before we start screening.

  • stage-based work

    • As of 10/3, these submissions are now closed.

    • This can be playing music, interactive artwork, etc.

    • Please email Bernard at Dolecki@alfred.edu no later than Monday, October 2nd so that we can plan your needs with the auditorium staff.

Potluck!

  • If you would like to participate in the potluck, please arrive a little early to set up your food outside of the auditorium.

  • Please share this with your peers and have fun with it

need to know

The art school is undergoing a planned power outage in the days leading up to this event. Check back here before heading to the event — if there are still power issues by the evening of the 19th, the event will be postponed to another date before winter break.
